Mat 1:17 Πᾶσαι οὖν αἱ γενεαὶ ἀπὸ Ἀβραὰμ ἕως Δαβὶδ γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες καὶ ἀπὸ Δαβὶδ ἕως τῆς μετοικεσίας Βαβυλῶνος γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς μετοικεσίας Βαβυλῶνος ἕως τοῦ Χριστοῦ γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες

17 Therefore all the generations from Abraham until David - fourteen generations. And, from David until the rehousing by Babylon - fourteen generations. And, from the rehousing by Babylon until the generation of Christ - fourteen. |
Mat 1:17 therefore all the generations from Abraham until David fourteen generations and from David until the carrying away by Babylon fourteen generations and from the carrying away by Babylon until Christ fourteen generations |
Mat 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
Mat 1:18 Τοῦ δὲ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ ἡ γέννησις οὕτως ἠν· μνηστευθείσης γὰρ τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ Μαρίας τῷ Ἰωσήφ, πρὶν ἢ συνελθεῖν αὐτούς, εὑρέθη ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχουσα ἐκ πνεύματος ἁγίου
|
18 But the generating of Jesus the Christ was thus, for of the espousal of his mother Mary to Joseph. She was found possessing within the belly by the Holy Spirit before they were allowed together. |
Mat 1:18 now the birth of Jesus Christ was thus for his mother Mary on being espoused to Joseph or before they came together she was found in having a child by the Holy Spirit |
Mat 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Mat 1:19 Ἰωσὴφ δὲ ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτῆς δίκαιος ὢν καὶ μὴ θέλων αὐτὴν παραδειγματίσαι, ἐβουλήθη λάθρᾳ ἀπολῦσαι αὐτήν

19 Joseph her husband being a justice, and actually, the one willing to test/try/expose her. He was was counselled to release her privately. |
Mat 1:19 now Joseph her husband being righteous and not willing to make an example [of] her he willed to release her secretly |
Mat 1:19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
Mat 1:20 ταῦτα δὲ αὐτοῦ ἐνθυμηθέντος ἰδού, ἄγγελος κυρίου κατ' ὄναρ ἐφάνη αὐτῷ λέγων, Ἰωσὴφ υἱὸς Δαβίδ, μὴ φοβηθῇς παραλαβεῖν Μαριὰμ τὴν γυναῖκά σου· τὸ γὰρ ἐν αὐτῇ γεννηθὲν ἐκ πνεύματός ἐστιν ἁγίου
|
20 But he reasoning within these, Consider40), an 'Angel41) of the Proprietor' appeared according to a dream, saying to him, “Joseph son of David, are you actually scared to be receiving Mary, your wife? For, the one being generated within her is by the Holy Spirit. |
Mat 1:20 now his being in thought of these you must be beholding the angel the Lord appeared to him according to [to] a dream saying Joseph son David should you be afraid not to be taking Mary your wife for [the] one being engendered in her is by Holy Spirit |
Mat 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
Mat 1:21 τέξεται δὲ υἱὸν καὶ καλέσεις τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἰησοῦν· αὐτὸς γὰρ σώσει τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν

21 She shall bring forth a son, you shall call his name Jesus: he shall save his people from their sins42).” |
Mat 1:21 now she shall be bring forth son and you shall be calling his name Jesus for he shall be saving his people the from their sins |
Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Mat 1:22 Τοῦτο δὲ ὅλον γέγονεν ἵνα πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν ὑπὸ τοῦ κυρίου διὰ τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος,

22 All this was generated43) so that it may be fulfilled, the one being said under the Proprietor through the prophets saying: |

Mat 1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Mat 1:23 Ἰδού, ἡ παρθένος ἐν γαστρὶ ἕξει καὶ τέξεται υἱόν, καὶ καλέσουσιν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἐμμανουήλ, ὅ ἐστιν μεθερμηνευόμενον, Μεθ' ἡμῶν ὁ θεός
|
23 Consider, a virgin shall be possessing within the belly and she shall bring forth a son and they shall be calling his name Emmanuel, which is housed, being translated, God is with us. |
Mat 1:23 you must be beholding a virgin shall be having in [the] womb and she shall be bringing forth a son and they shall be calling his name the Emmanuel which on being interpreted God is with us |
Mat 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Mat 1:24 διεγερθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰωσὴφ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕπνου ἐποίησεν ὡς προσέταξεν αὐτῷ ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου καὶ παρέλαβεν τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ

24 But Joseph being raised from sleep did as the Angel44) of the Proprietor ordered and received his wife. |
Mat 1:24 now Joseph being araised from sleep does as the angel the of the Lord commands to him and he takes his wife |
Mat 1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
Mat 1:25 καὶ οὐκ ἐγίνωσκεν αὐτὴν ἕως οὗ ἔτεκεν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτῆς τὸν πρωτότοκον· καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἰησοῦν

25 And, he knew her not until she brought forth her firstborn son: And he calls his name Jesus. |
