Mat 11:1 Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐτέλεσεν Ἰησοῦς διατάσσων τοῖς δώδεκα μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ μετέβη ἐκεῖθεν τοῦ διδάσκειν καὶ κηρύσσειν ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν αὐτῶν

1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.

4 Jesus answered and said to them, Go and shew John again those things which you do hear and see:

Mat 11:5 τυφλοὶ ἀναβλέπουσιν καὶ χωλοὶ περιπατοῦσιν λεπροὶ καθαρίζονται καὶ κωφοὶ ἀκούουσιν νεκροὶ ἐγείρονται καὶ πτωχοὶ εὐαγγελίζονται·

5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Mat 11:5 blind ones are seeing and lame ones are walking lepers they are being cleansed and dumb ones are hearing dead ones are being raised and poor ones gospel is being preached

Mat 11:6 καὶ μακάριός ἐστιν ὃς ἐὰν μὴ σκανδαλισθῇ ἐν ἐμοί

6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Mat 11:7 Τούτων δὲ πορευομένων ἤρξατο Ἰησοῦς λέγειν τοῖς ὄχλοις περὶ Ἰωάννου Τί ἐξήλθετε εἰς τὴν ἔρημον θεάσασθαι κάλαμον ὑπὸ ἀνέμου σαλευόμενον

7 And as they departed, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, What went you out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

Mat 11:8 ἀλλὰ τί ἐξήλθετε ἰδεῖν ἄνθρωπον ἐν μαλακοῖς ἱματίοις ἠμφιεσμένον ἰδού, οἱ τὰ μαλακὰ φοροῦντες ἐν τοῖς οἴκοις τῶν βασιλέων εἰσίν

8 But what went you out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.

Mat 11:8 howbeit what went you out to be seeing a man one having been clothed in soft garments you must be beholding one bearing the soft they are in kings houses

Mat 11:9 ἀλλὰ τί ἐξήλθετε ἰδεῖν προφήτην ναί λέγω ὑμῖν καὶ περισσότερον προφήτου

9 But what went you out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say to you, and more than a prophet.

Mat 11:10 οὗτός γὰρ ἐστιν περὶ οὗ γέγραπται, Ἰδού, ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω τὸν ἄγγελόν μου πρὸ προσώπου σου ὃς κατασκευάσει τὴν ὁδόν σου ἔμπροσθέν σου

10 For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before your face, which shall prepare your way before you.

Mat 11:10 for this is he about whom it has been written you must be beholding I am sending my angel before your face who shall be preparing your way before you

Mat 11:11 ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, οὐκ ἐγήγερται ἐν γεννητοῖς γυναικῶν μείζων Ἰωάννου τοῦ βαπτιστοῦ· δὲ μικρότερος ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν μείζων αὐτοῦ ἐστιν

11 Verily I say to you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Mat 11:11 I am saying amen to you in ones born of women there has been raised no greater [than] John the baptist now a little in the kingdom of the heavens is greater [than] him

Mat 11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Mat 11:12 ἀπὸ δὲ τῶν ἡμερῶν Ἰωάννου τοῦ βαπτιστοῦ ἕως ἄρτι βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν βιάζεται καὶ βιασταὶ ἁρπάζουσιν αὐτήν

12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Mat 11:16 Τίνι δὲ ὁμοιώσω τὴν γενεὰν ταύτην ὁμοία ἐστὶν παιδαρίοις ἐν ἀγοραῖς καθημένοις καὶ προσφωνοῦσιν τοῖς ἑταίροις αὐτῶν,

16 But whereto shall I liken this generation? It is like to children sitting in the markets, and calling to their fellows,

Mat 11:16 now what shall I be likening a generation it is like these children sitting in the markets and calling to their friends

Mat 11:17 καὶ λέγουσιν Ηὐλήσαμεν ὑμῖν καὶ οὐκ ὠρχήσασθε ἐθρηνήσαμεν ὑμῖν, καὶ οὐκ ἐκόψασθε

17 And saying, We have piped to you, and you have not danced; we have mourned to you, and you have not lamented.

Mat 11:17 and saying we piped for you and you dance not we mourn for you and you wail not

Mat 11:18 ἦλθεν γὰρ Ἰωάννης μήτε ἐσθίων μήτε πίνων καὶ λέγουσιν Δαιμόνιον ἔχει

18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.

Mat 11:19 ἦλθεν υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐσθίων καὶ πίνων καὶ λέγουσιν Ἰδού, ἄνθρωπος φάγος καὶ οἰνοπότης τελωνῶν φίλος καὶ ἁμαρτωλῶν καὶ ἐδικαιώθη σοφία ἀπὸ τῶν τέκνων αὐτῆς

19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

Mat 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking and they are saying you must be beholding a man gluttonous and a winebibber a friend of publicans and sinners and the wisdom was justified by her children

Mat 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

Mat 11:20 Τότε ἤρξατο ὀνειδίζειν τὰς πόλεις ἐν αἷς ἐγένοντο αἱ πλεῖσται δυνάμεις αὐτοῦ ὅτι οὖ μετενόησαν·

20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

21 Woe to you, Chorazin! woe to you, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

Mat 11:21 woe to you Chorazin woe to you Bethsaida that if the powers the came in you coming in Tyre and Sidon they repent ever old in sackcloth and ash

Mat 11:21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

Mat 11:22 πλὴν λέγω ὑμῖν Τύρῳ καὶ Σιδῶνι ἀνεκτότερον ἔσται ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κρίσεως ὑμῖν

22 But I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgement, than for you.

Mat 11:23 καὶ σύ Καπερναούμ, ἕως τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ὑψωθεῖσα, ἕως ᾅδου καταβιβασθήσῃ· ὅτι εἰ ἐν Σοδόμοις ἐγένοντο αἱ δυνάμεις αἱ γενόμεναι ἐν σοί ἔμειναν ἂν μέχρι τῆς σήμερον

23 And you, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in you, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

Mat 11:23 and you Capernaum the one being exalted until heaven shall be brought down until hell that if the powers they came in you the ones coming in Sodom ever they remain until today

Mat 11:23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

Mat 11:24 πλὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι γῇ Σοδόμων ἀνεκτότερον ἔσται ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κρίσεως σοί

24 But I say to you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgement, than for you.

Mat 11:25 Ἐν ἐκείνῳ τῷ καιρῷ ἀποκριθεὶς Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν Ἐξομολογοῦμαί σοι πάτερ κύριε τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τῆς γῆς ὅτι απέκρυψας ταῦτα ἀπὸ σοφῶν καὶ συνετῶν καὶ ἀπεκάλυψας αὐτὰ νηπίοις·

25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to babes.

Mat 11:25 in that season Jesus on answering he said I am confessing to you Father Lord of heaven and the earth that you hide these from the wise and prudent ones and you reveal them to babes

Mat 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

Mat 11:26 ναί, πατήρ, ὅτι οὕτως ἐγένετο εὐδοκία ἔμπροσθέν σου

26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in your sight.

Mat 11:27 Πάντα μοι παρεδόθη ὑπὸ τοῦ πατρός μου καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐπιγινώσκει τὸν υἱὸν εἰ μὴ πατήρ, οὐδὲ τὸν πατέρα τις ἐπιγινώσκει εἰ μὴ υἱὸς καὶ ἐὰν βούληται υἱὸς ἀποκαλύψαι

27 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knows the Son, but the Father; neither knows any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

Mat 11:27 all was delivered to me under my Father and no one knows of the if but Son the Father neither is knowing anyone the Father [not] the Son and whom ever the Son should be willing to reveal

Mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

Mat 11:28 Δεῦτε πρός με πάντες οἱ κοπιῶντες καὶ πεφορτισμένοι κἀγὼ ἀναπαύσω ὑμᾶς

28 Come to me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest to your souls.

Mat 11:29 You must take my yoke upon you and you must be learning from me because I am meek and lowly at heart and you shall be finding rest of your souls

Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Mat 11:30 γὰρ ζυγός μου χρηστὸς καὶ τὸ φορτίον μου ἐλαφρόν ἐστιν

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
